Getting Around
During the fall and winter seasons, snow is no surprise. If you’re planning a trip to our cabin during the winter season, please keep an eye on your weather app for snow. If there’s snow during the week of your stay you must carry chains at all times with you for safety. If you’re planning to go into Yosemite NP during a snow fall they will not let you in without showing the rangers you have a 4x4/AWD and carrying chains. This is to assure your safety. The cabin also provides 3 snow shovels if you need to shovel some snow away from your car.
SPRING & SUMMER
There is no need for a 4x4 or AWD to the cabin during Spring and Summer. If you’re wanting to take a trip to Yosemite during this season expect long delays to the entrance. To avoid crowds and heavy traffic, we highly recommending going for sunrise (especially if you’re planning to drive up to Glacier and Taft point) or any time before 11AM or after 3PM.
FALL & WINTER
Things to do in Yosemite
There are many amazing spots to see in Yosemite, but from the many hikes we’ve taken and years of visiting we’ve rounded up some cool spots to share with little to no crowds! Don’t worry though, we’ll add in the most popular spots as well and the best time to go to avoid tourists.
About 15 minutes from the entrance) there’s what seems to be a golf course, if you park at the hotel parking lot (it’s free public parking) you’ll find a pavement trail in the fields that leads into the forest, it’s about a 1-2 mile walk throughout the woods.
TUNNEL VIEW
his wonderful view is what draws in most of the tourist from around the world! To get there, continue straight for about 30-45 minutes from the Yosemite entrance. There will always be people around admiring, but to avoid large crowds I recommend star gazing at midnight or sunrise. If you go after sunrise just be prepared for tourist buses and some traffic.
